And Then I Woke Up - Review

And Then I Woke UpAnd Then I Woke Up by Malcolm Devlin
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

It's the end of the world. There are survivors and others; the infected. The others are dangerous, looming in the darkness ready to attack and bring rot to the world. The survivors do whatever they can to survive, killing monsters and looting resources from the world.

This isn't your classic zombie apocalypse book. No, something vastly different is happening. Relatable to current events, it's all about the narrative. Any truth can be spun and woven with the right setting, the right clues, the right words.

Are there really monsters?
Are the survivors really doing the right thing?
What if it's all just a carefully constructed lie?

4 stars. This was a quick read, novella length. If you enjoy horror and scifi, you will enjoy this first person account of a possible apocalypse. I can see this piece being adapted for screen in a style similar to Warm Bodies. I would definitely watch it on the big screen!
