I wanted to like this. I really really did. Colleen’s books are constantly recommended on my TikTok feed and this was my first read by her.

I am not a fan…. :/

The writing in this was more telling than showing, which made me skim a lot. It wasn’t bad writing, just… not my thing. A whole lot of sex, which I know is supposed to support the psychotic obsession thing. Spice is okay in a book but geez 😂 I rolled my eyes at the turns of events, especially the end result with Lowen. The only character I liked in the whole book was the kids. I felt like all the others were not relatable and unrealistic.

Ugh. I dunno. Maybe I’m being too overly harsh on this. It just wasn’t the book for me and felt like a chore to read. Are all of Colleen’s books like this?
